This is not merely a tournament.

It is a tale of ambition, corruption, and rising influence within the City of the Damned.

Across five gaming sessions, your warband will fight through a linked story arc as factions clash for control of ancient wyrdstone secrets.

Victory is measured not only in blood and wyrdstone, but in craft, honour, and fellowship.

This page is a live Player Pack and will be updated periodically to maintain accuracy.

Welcome to Mordheim: Arc of Power, a narrative Mordheim campaign event held at ArcFest 2026.

Play for Fun is all about bringing armies that are enjoyable to play against.

You don’t need the most powerful list—focus on what makes the game fun, engaging, and memorable for both you and your opponent.

Roll dice, tell stories, and enjoy great games where shared fun always comes first.

Challenge Your Hobby is all about bringing your painted models to the table.

Every miniature must be painted, giving you the chance to showcase your army to fellow gamers, try new techniques, and push yourself creatively.

This event celebrates both your craft and your courage to put your hobby on display for everyone to enjoy.

Create & Collect is all about the rule of cool. Bring the models, conversions, and armies that excite you the most—no limits, no pressure, just fun.

Show off your creativity, collect inspiration from others, and celebrate the ideas that make your hobby unique.

This is your space to play, craft, and enjoy the things you love most.

Play It Forward is about making new friends, enjoying a hobby we all love, and showing respect and sportsmanship to everyone at the event.

It’s about being part of a welcoming, positive community where every game is fun and every player feels included.

Each event will either score, or give awards representing these categories.

ArcFest wide Rules

Painted Miniatures:  All models must be painted with a minimum of three distinct colours (This includes the base, which can be 1 of the colours). This ensures every miniature is table-ready and contributes to the visual enjoyment of the event. It’s about celebrating your hobby and showing off the creativity and effort you’ve put into your army. Everyone knows, painted models roll better dice.

All 3D-printed models must follow the ArcFest Model Policy. This ensures they meet the same standards as other models for quality, safety, and table readiness. It’s about keeping games fair, enjoyable, and consistent for everyone at the event. We also want to make sure participants are respecting our sponsors and game creators who support the entire con. Some events will have exceptions, however please review the policy for more detail.

ArcFest Model Policy (update coming)

Behaviour Policy: All attendees are expected to act respectfully and responsibly. Any inappropriate, violent, bullying, or abusive behaviour, deliberately cheating, or disregarding TO rulings will not be tolerated, and those who engage in such conduct will be asked to leave. This helps keep ArcFest a safe, fair, and welcoming environment for everyone.

AI Artwork: If the event has theme or presentation you may not use Chat GPT or gen AI to create text or artwork for your theme. You will receive no points for it, and AI artwork may not be displayed at the event. Ours is a hobby of imagination. We want to see yours.

You can read more about the rules for Mordheim through the original Games Workshop publications and the wealth of community resources available online. Mordheimer is an excellent fan-run site and a fantastic reference, hosting rules, warbands, campaign material, and hobby inspiration for the City of the Damned. Official and classic Mordheim miniatures are long out of production, but a wide range of suitable models is available from many manufacturers, making it easy to build a warband that fits the grim streets of Mordheim.

The Arc of Power

Each game represents a chapter in a growing conflict:

  • Warbands rise from obscurity

  • Influence spreads through ruined districts

  • Power corrupts, and legends are forged

Your choices and victories shape the unfolding narrative.

There will be:

  • Five main narrative battles

  • One Q&A session with the game designer

  • If time permits, additional battles may be fought purely for story and glory (these do not count toward scoring)

Warband Mustering

Only sanctioned warbands may enter the City of the Damned.

  • Warbands must use official Grade 1a warbands and hired swords from Broheim.

  • No Dramatis Personae may be taken.

  • Each player must bring a printed warband roster for opponents and organisers.

  • All equipment must be paid for and remain consistent throughout the event.

Recruitment Limit:

  • Warbands are created using 500 gold crowns for recruitment and equipment.

  • If a warband has a special rule that allows it to begin with more than 500gc, that rule may be used as written.

WYSIWYG & Bases – The Law of Appearances

What is seen is what is fought.

WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get):

  • Models must clearly represent their primary weapons and equipment

  • Minor proxies are acceptable (sword/dagger, club/mace/hammer, shield/buckler)

  • Armour and small trinkets do not need to be modelled

  • Equipment must remain consistent for the entire event

Bases:

  • Round or square bases are permitted

  • Each warband must use one base type only (all round or all square)

  • Mixing base shapes within a warband is forbidden

House Rules of the Ruined City

The following laws govern battle within Mordheim during the Arc of Power:

  • The free dagger does not grant an extra attack. A fighter must be armed with two purchased weapons to gain +1 Attack.

  • No fighter may carry two spears.

  • Missile weapons are limited to 50% of the warband (excluding hired swords).

Beastmen Warband Special Allowance:

  • Ungors in a Beastmen warband may add bows to their Equipment List for a cost of 5 gold crowns each.

Any additional clarifications or scenario-specific rules will be provided in the mission briefings.

House Rule: Voluntary Rout

In the City of the Damned, retreat is sometimes wiser than slaughter — but it comes at a cost.

A warband may choose to voluntarily rout at the start of any of their own turns, following the normal Mordheim rules for routing. However, the following conditions apply:

Battle Outcome

  • A voluntary rout counts as a Loss for Battle Outcome scoring (0 points for the battle result).

Thematic & Warband Objectives

  • A warband that voluntarily routs may still score up to half (5 points) of the available Thematic & Warband Objective points for that mission, provided those objectives were achieved before routing.

  • Objectives requiring control of the battlefield at game end cannot be scored if the warband voluntarily routs.

Sportsmanship & Narrative Intent

  • Voluntary routing is permitted for narrative, tactical, or safety reasons (preserving heroes, time management, or story choices).

  • Repeated or intentional routing to avoid play, deny opponents interaction, or manipulate scoring may be penalised by organisers under Sportsmanship.

As with all tournaments, there are a lot of rules to make it clear and fair for everyone, but honestly we just want to have a blast playing this marvelous and action-packed game of brave hunters versus gnarly monsters. Rock up for a rad weekend playing toy soldiers with new friends, and you’re already a winner.

Arc of Power Rules

Final Words

"Power is never found.
It is taken."

Prepare your warband.
Name your champions.
The City of the Damned awaits.

"The comet’s shards still burn in the ruins.
Power gathers. Warbands march.
Only one shall rise from the dust."

The Path to Glory – Scoring (300 Points Total)

True power is earned in three ways:

Battle Score

Hobby & Theme

Honour of the Warband

Each is worth 100 points.

Battle Score – 100 Points (The Arc of Power)

Each battle represents a step along the Arc of Power, where warbands pursue both victory and their own dark ambitions.

Across the five narrative battles, players may earn up to 20 points per battle, for a total of 100 points.

Points are awarded as follows:

Outcome of Battle (max 10 points):

  • Victory = 10 points

  • Draw = 5 points

  • Defeat = 0 points

Thematic Objectives (max 10 points):
In each battle, warbands may earn up to 10 additional points by completing scenario-specific objectives and warband narrative goals. These may include:

  • Claiming key wyrdstone sites

  • Controlling districts of the ruined city

  • Protecting or assassinating important figures

  • Fulfilling unique warband story objectives

These objectives will be detailed in each mission briefing and are designed to reward bold, thematic, and narrative-driven play.

Maximum per battle: 20 points
Maximum across five battles: 100 points

Honour of the Warband – 100 points (Sportsmanship)

Scored by your opponents across the five main battles only.
Any extra games played if time permits do not count toward scoring.

Each battle awards 20 points, divided into:

Player Conduct – 10 points

  • Fair and honest play

  • Clear communication

  • Friendly and positive attitude

Warband Conduct – 10 points

  • Clear roster

  • WYSIWYG compliance

  • Smooth, organised gameplay

  • Thematic consistency

Maximum per battle: 20 points

Maximum across five battles: 100 points

Hobby & Theme – 100 Points (Judged by the Organisers)

Your warband’s legend is judged as much by sight as by steel.

Painting Quality – 40 points
From tabletop standard to masterful finish

Cohesive Theme & Narrative – 25 points

A clear identity, story, and visual unity

Conversions & Effort – 20 points

Kitbashing, sculpting, or creative builds

Code of Conduct

This is a narrative and community-focused event.

Commanders are expected to:

  • Play fairly and respectfully

  • Help new players

  • Resolve disputes calmly

  • Prioritise story and enjoyment over victory

The organisers reserve the right to intervene if conduct diminishes the experience of others.

Honours of Mordheim

The City remembers its champions:

Master of Battle – Highest Battle Score

Artisan of Ruin – Best Hobby & Theme

Paragon of Honour – Best Sportsmanship

All honours are equal in prestige.
